We are proud to report that we had 60 people in attendance for our August 6th Arts Presenters conference held at the YMCA in Marshall.  We are honored that representatives from many different organizations were able to join us including the Appleton 52 Wing Restoration Committee, Dawson-Boyd Arts Association, Tyler Arts Council, Business, Arts, & Recreation Center in Windom, the Crow River Players, Fine Arts Council of Tracy, Hutchinson Theatre Co., Jackson County Art Guilds, the Pipestone Performing Arts Center, Memorial Auditorium in Worthington, Prairie Arts Chorale, Song of the Prairie Chorus, Prairie Music Concert Series, the Worthington Concert Association, Hutchinson Concert Association, Choirs of Note, Friends of the Arts,  and the Marshall Area Fine Arts Council, our host for the conference.

Attendees were able to meet the new Executive Director of the MN State Arts Board, Tom Proehl, who was kind enough to travel to Marshall to present a session on contracts.  He also informed us of the State Arts Board grant programs for which presenting organizations may apply.  We enjoyed the opportunity to have Mr. Proehl participate in our workshop.

We’d like to thank our other presenters as well, all of whom offered excellent sessions.  These presenters include Luanne Fondell, Pat Schultz, Margaret Hurlbut-Vosburgh and Chad Felton.  Thanks also to our showcase artists, Pete Lothringer and Ross Anderson who entertained us with their exquisite jazz.  And finally, thank you to Paula Nemes, Carol Purrington, Jean Replinger, Ellen Skramstad and Pat Schultz from MAFAC for hosting and all of their volunteer efforts.
