ANNUAL CELEBRATION A GREAT SUCCESS The 2010 SMAHC
Annual Celebration was a grand festival of great entertainment, food
and fellowship. Almost 90 people
After the awards ceremony, a delicious pasta buffet was served. After the meal, one of the fun highlights of the evening began with the live auction of some 18 desserts. Our auctioneer, Jim Fahey, encouraged the guests to bid on each dessert and SMAHC is so grateful for all who participated and contributed to this part of the fundraiser. The dessert auction alone took in $875 - thanks to everyone who participated. The silent auction also netted $1515. Thanks also to everyone who bid on the excellent silent auction items.

attended the event at the Crow River Golf Club in Hutchinson. The
event was billed as a Mad Hatter style arts celebration. Most
attendees came creatively adorned with their favorite hat—some
stylish and some zany! Some guests visited the hat making table and
created and decorated a hat right on the spot. Prizes were given to
the most creative hats. 
The
evening began with a social hour where guests could meet and greet
each other and also enjoy the opening entertainment by the Crow
River Area Youth Orchestra. And also during this time, the silent
auction consisting of some 46 items began. A short annual meeting
took place and then the Prairie Star and Prairie Disciple awards
were presented. Karl “Bill” Gossman, a potter from New London, was
awarded the 2010 Prairie Star and Joel McKinney accepted the 2010
Prairie Disciple award in honor of arts advocate, Ruth McKinney.
