ALL SMAHC PROGRAMS - 2009/2010

Minnesota Counties within SMAHC region:  Big Stone, Chippewa, Cottonwood, Jackson, Kandiyohi, Lac qui Parle, Lincoln, Lyon, McLeod, Meeker, Murray, Nobles, Pipestone, Redwood, Renville, Rock, Swift, and Yellow Medicine

TECHNICAL ASSISTANCE:  Free to all area schools, arts organizations and artists.  Ongoing.

IMPORTANT - NEW POLICY:  It is your responsibility to make sure your application is complete and does not include errors. The SMAHC staff will no longer notify an applicant to offer an opportunity to make additions or adjustments to an application unless a draft application is receive in the SMAHC office well in advance of the deadline.  Incomplete or inaccurate materials may result in your application being deemed ineligible or reduce your request.

SMAHC Programs for Organizations & Schools

ART PROJECT GRANTS Provides area organizations with up to $4500 in matching funds (Art Project) to produce or present high quality arts events. LOCAL ARTS DEVELOPMENT GRANTS Provides up to $4,000 in matching funds to local arts organizations to strengthen their capacity to provide quality arts activities Deadlines for Art Projects and Local Arts Development programs Round I  Application Deadline: Aug. 3, 2009  Grant writing workshop: July 1, 2009  Panel Meeting: Aug. 29, 2009  Board Action: Sept. 28, 2009  Earliest project start date Oct. 15, 2009    Round II  Application Deadline: February 1, 2010  Grant writing workshop: Dec. 29, 2010  Panel Meeting: March 6, 2010  Board Action: March 22, 2010  Earliest project start date: Apr. 15, 2010	ARTS CHALLENGE GRANTS Provides arts organizations up to $500 matching new memberships and/or season tickets. Deadlines for Arts Challenge Grants Round I Application Deadline: Sept. 4, 2009 Board Action: Sept. 28, 2009 Earliest project start date Oct. 1, 2009  Round II Application Deadline: Jan. 4, 2010 Board Action: Jan. 25, 2010 Earliest project start date Feb. 2, 2010 *Round III Application Deadline: April 1, 2010 Board Action: April 26, 2010 Earliest project start date May 1, 2010 * Round III to be added if funds remain after Round II.  Please contact the SMAHC office before applying	ARTS & LEARNING GRANTS Matching grants to schools, organizations, and communities for artist residencies or arts-related field trips that include educator training and community involvement.  Up to $600 (field trips), $750 (pre-packaged theatre residencies) or $2,500 (residencies). Deadlines for Arts in Education & Communities Grants Round I Application Deadline: October 1, 2009 Grant writing workshop: Aug. 25, 2009 Panel Meeting: Nov. 14, 2009 Board Action: Nov. 23, 2009 Earliest project start date: Dec. 1, 2009 Round II Application Deadline: April 1, 2010 Grant writing workshop: Feb. 23, 2010 Panel Meeting: May 1, 2010 Board Action: May 25, 2010 Earliest project start date June 1, 2010
TECHNICAL ASSISTANCE:  Free to all area schools, arts organizations and artists. Call the SMAHC Office	ARTS ORGANIZATION NETWORKING and TRAINING GRANTS Provides up to $500 in mileage reimbursement and workshop fees for members of local arts organizations to network with members of other arts organizations and/or attend arts workshops. Applications due one (1) week prior to the planned trip.	CULTURAL BANK Up to $400 in insurance support for projects which face possible loss of expected revenue . Ongoing deadline:  28 days before project performance date.
