SMAHC Programs for Individual Artists

The SMAHC Individual Artist grant program is designed to aid in career development and arts activities of artists living and working in the eighteen counties of southwestern Minnesota served by the Southwest Minnesota Arts and Humanities Council.  It is made possible by funds provided by the McKnight Foundation and the State of Minnesota.

INDIVIDUAL ARTIST – ESTABLISHED CAREER GRANTS
 

Provides up to $7,000 to aid established career artists in the advanced stage of their career development with projects that leave an arts legacy in Minnesota.

 

DEADLINES

 Grant writing workshop: November 3, 2011
 Application Deadline: December 15, 2011
Panel Meeting: January 7, 2012
 Board Action: January 24, 2012
 Earliest project start date: Feb. 1, 2012

PRAIRIE STAR AWARD

 

This award ($5,000) was established to provide awareness and recognition of one artist per year, from southwest Minnesota, whose body of work best exemplifies the highest quality of art in the SMAHC region.
