ARTS ORGANIZATION WORKSHOP

“Guiding the Arts Organization Brand”

with Carlo Cuesta from CreationINCommon

Saturday, March 24 • 1 - 3:30 PM

Marshall-Lyon County Library, Marshall

What is your unique offering and benefit to the community?

What is your brand and your message?

Your organization’s brand defines your organization’s identity in terms of the specific meaningful value you create.  Different from mission, it is the outward facing presence that you establish with your audience that guides their perception and participation.  In this workshop, you will learn how brands work in arts organizations, how to begin to guide your brand presence, and apply what you learn to developing a set of brand pillars and targeted messages.  Most importantly, you will learn how brands are driven through engagement and interaction, moving beyond one-sided messaging and into meaningful dialogues and relationships with your audience.

This is a FREE workshop for board members and staff of arts organizations, big or small!

Carlo Cuesta has 25 years experience working with nonprofit and arts organizations helping them get their messages out and developing strategies for engagement. He was the lead trainer for the Minnesota State Arts Board's Statewide Audience Development Initiative and is the co-author of The McKnight Foundation commissioned report: “Bright Stars, Charting the Impact of Art on Greater Minnesota.” He has an MBA from the University of St. Thomas and is an adjunct professor in the graduate program on arts and cultural leadership at the University of Minnesota.

Great chance to network with other arts organizations and meet the SMAHC board members & staff!
