American Composers Forum - Call for sample scores from Minnesota composers; choral commission.  Seeks sample scores and recordings from Minnesota composers interested in a cash commission for an original choral composition (in a difficulty range of Class I/II from the Minnesota State High School League Music Handbook) to be premiered by the All-State Women’s Choir (SSA or SSAA voicing) in August, 2011, at St. Olaf College in Northfield, Minnesota. The application Deadline is 5/1/2010.  For more information, contact Bruce W. “Mi Casa Es Su Casa,” or “My House is Your House” exhibit will on display at Southwest Minnesota State University, Marshall,  starting on February 3, 2010.  The murals are part of a Western Community Action project welcoming and embracing new cultures in southwest Minnesota.  The display will be on the west end of the second floor of the Student Center, and will run through February

The Minnesota Shorts Festival of Plays is accepting submissions of short plays (15 minutes or less) for the 2010 festival Sept. 9-10 in Mankato. North Valley Arts Council is announcing a Call for Entries for the Grand Cities Art Fest;  Arts Fest is a 2 day outdoor arts festival that takes place along the river in Grand Forks, ND and East Grand Forks, MN.  The dates of the show are June 12 & 13, 2010.  The 2010 Juror is Ann Ruhr Pifer from Grand Hand Gallery in St. Paul, MN.  Artist application deadline is March 5, 2010.  visit http://www.novac.org for more information

Jerome Foundation Travel and Study Grant Program:  March 8, 2010, has been set as the Application Deadline for the 2010 Travel and Study Grant Program.  Eligible Disciplines: Dance, Film And Video, And Literature.  The 2010 Travel and Study Grant Program will award grants to emerging creative artists (choreographers, film and video directors, poets, spoken word artists, fiction and creative nonfiction writers). The American Composers Forum has a large database of on-line opportunities on their website.  Visit www.composersforum.org/opportunities.cfm to view these opportunities.

MNArtists.org is an online database of Minnesota artists and organizations from all disciplines.  It offers to Minnesota-based artists a central gathering place on the Web, and will grow to become a marketplace and community hub. It offers the public a new way to explore art and get to know artists. mnartists.org provides news and features about the local arts scene from a variety of sources and a calendar of arts events in Minnesota.  Visit their website and read more at:  mnartists.org.

Calling All Minnesota Artists! Foot In The Door 4 is an open exhibition for all Minnesota artists by the Minneapolis Institute of Arts  Any visual media that can fit completely into a 12-inch square box can be entered into this exhibition.  This event takes place every ten years.  Art drop-off and registration is February 4 - 7.
