SMAHC Awards $61,449 in Grants to Local Arts Organization
 

Congratulations to the most recent recipients of the SMAHC Arts Project and Local Arts Development Grants!

  • Norwegian Heritage Committee, Hendricks, $1400, for the “Sound of Hendricks” performances.

  • Marshall Area Fine Arts Council, Marshall area, $4500, for their visual arts exhibits series.

  • Keepers of the Sacred Tradition of Pipemakers, Pipestone, $4500 for the “Keepers Traditional Pow Wow”.

  • Calumet Players, Pipestone, $3600, for their production of “The Wizard of Oz”.

  • Prairie Oasis Players, Slayton, $2752, for their summer production, “State Fair”.

  • Willmar Area Arts Council, Willmar, $4500, for “Celebrate Art! Celebrate Coffee!” 2008.

  • Milan Movers, Milan, $2892, for the “Milan: A Taste of Syttende Mai” celebration.

  • Meander Art Crawl, Upper MN River Valley area, in the amount of $4500 for the Meander Art Crawl 2008.

  • Western MN Prairie Waters, Appleton, $2500, for the “Upper MN Valley Celebrates the Sesquicentennial Art Exhibits”.

  • Plum Creek Library System, SW MN, $3413, for their 2008 Summer Reading Program concert tour featuring musician/author Dennis Warner.

  • Business, Arts, & Recreation Center, Inc., Windom, $1730, to present Jungle Theater’s “Holocaust: The Legacy of Anne Frank” production.

  • Cultural Awareness Organization, Worthington, $1935, for the “2008 Worthington International Festival” ethnic art performances. 

  • Prairie Arts Chorale, SW MN, $2859, for their “Come to the Fair” concert series.

  • Adrian Community Education, Adrian, $4500, for their community production of “Footloose”.

  • Friends of the Orchestra, SW MN, $3700, for their concert series “Peter and the Wolf”.

  • Council for the Arts & Humanities in Rock County, Luverne, $3500, for their 2008 “Rock Arts Presenters Series”.

  • Friends of the Auditorium, Worthington, $3318, for their “Get Connected & Participate In the Arts” campaign.

  • Dawson-Boyd Arts Association, Dawson area, $3250, for an endowment fund publication and equipment purchases.

  • Tatanka Arts, Redwood and Renville counties, $2100, to obtain official non-profit status.
